"These truffles are delicious with a coffee for an afternoon pick up or as an after -dinner treat. They are raw, gluten free, dairy free and sweetened with natural sugars from the dates. They are guilt free and will hit the spot when craving something sweet. They are addictive and it will be hard to eat just one! They are also a great little healthy gift, perfect for giving to friends and family."

Raw Cacao Truffles

Ingredients

9 Mejdool Dates 

1/3 Cup of Almond Butter

1/2 Cup of Ground Almonds

Pinch of Sea Salt

3 Tbsp of Cacao Powder 

Chopped Hazelnuts

Method

  1. Place the de stoned dates into a high-speed food processor with a dash of boiling water from the kettle. Blitz the dates until they are smooth. Scrape down the sides of the blender.

  2. Add the almond butter, ground almonds, cacao powder and sea salt.

  3. Blend until completely combined and smooth.

  4. Use a tablespoon as a measurement guide to roll the mixture into ball shapes using your hands. 

  5. Roll the truffles into chopped hazelnuts or extra cacao powder.Store in an air tight container in the fridge for up to a week or tuck in straight away!
